Every September, Therapy for Black Girls acknowledges Sexual Health Awareness Month through our month-long campaign, Sex Positive September. Sex Positive September spotlights the unique challenges and stigmatization Black women face regarding the expression of their sexuality and aims to dismantle harmful narratives that demean our full humanity. Throughout the month of September we explore these themes through community conversations, activations and events, and curated content.

Our 2024 theme, Women, Agency & Pleasure, will explore the role of agency in sexual liberation, the impact of respectability politics in deterring Black women from embracing their sexuality, and ways to unpack our personal beliefs about sex to foster healthier attitudes.
