Session 72: Taking Care of Yourself as a Caregiver

The Therapy for Black Girls Podcast is a weekly conversation with Dr. Joy Harden Bradford, a Licensed Psychologist in Atlanta, Georgia, about all things mental health, personal development, and all the small decisions we can make to become the best possible version of ourselves.

Today’s episode features my conversation with Reinette Arnold, LCSW, MAC, FVIP about taking care of your mental health as a caregiver. Reinette and  I discussed some of the common challenges that come up for caregivers, managing your emotions as a caregiver, how to engage your support system, why self care is so important as a caregiver, and how to engage in clear and effective communication with family and friends related to caregiving.
